RanchNVR is private NVR software for sites the
operator already runs. It is not a public camera network, social app,
or marketplace. This page covers the iOS client and
this marketing site at ranchnvr.com. Video, accounts, and
alerts live on the NVR origin
(https://nvr.ranchnvr.com), which is a
separate website.
Who processes what
If you use RanchNVR, you are almost always a user of someone else’s NVR (the person or business that invited you). That operator’s server stores your login, camera footage, and alerts. This marketing site does not host those records and cannot see them.
The iOS app (v1)
The app is a client for a RanchNVR instance. In v1 it:
-
Talks only over HTTPS to the NVR you sign into
(for this deployment,
https://nvr.ranchnvr.com). It does not send video or passwords toranchnvr.com. - Uses the same local accounts + TOTP as the web UI. There is no Sign in with Apple in v1.
- Stores a long-lived device token in the on-device Keychain. Face ID (or another device biometric) unlocks that token on the phone. Face ID is not a second factor checked by the NVR, and the biometric template never leaves the device.
- Does not include ads, advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting clouds in v1.
You can revoke a device from the web Account page after signing in at nvr.ranchnvr.com. After revoke, that phone must sign in again.
What the NVR holds
The NVR (not this site) stores local usernames, password hashes,
TOTP secrets, session cookies, optional device tokens, camera
configuration, recorded video, detection events, and license-plate
text when ALPR is enabled. Session cookies
(ranchnvr_session) are
host-only on the NVR hostname. They are not set on
.ranchnvr.com and are not used by these marketing
pages.
Camera placement, who appears on video, and how long footage is kept are decisions of the NVR operator, not of this marketing site.
This marketing site
https://ranchnvr.com serves static pages (home, privacy,
support, terms). It does not create accounts, set session cookies,
run ads or analytics, or call the NVR API from your browser. “Open
the NVR” is an ordinary link to
https://nvr.ranchnvr.com.
Children
The app is meant for people the NVR operator invites (typically adults who already have an account). It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not provide a public sign-up.
We do not sell personal information
RanchNVR does not sell user data, does not broker camera access, and does not show third-party ads in the v1 app or on this site.
Contact
For access to footage or your NVR account, contact the person who runs your NVR and sign in at nvr.ranchnvr.com. Product questions about this site or the App Store listing: support@ranchnvr.com.
